Below you will find the AltoCV Terms of Use, the AltoCV Privacy Policy, and the third-party software license notice for RenderCV. AltoCV uses third-party software, including RenderCV, and that third-party component remains subject to its own license. The applicable third-party copyright and license notice is reproduced at the end of this page for reference.
Terms of Use
AltoCV Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of AltoCV, including any website, application, software, document-generation functionality, CV-tailoring functionality, upload functionality, user dashboard, downloadable output, and related services made available by AltoCV.
By accessing, registering for, uploading content to, or using AltoCV, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use AltoCV.
Private Pilot Status
AltoCV currently operates only as an invite-only pilot for five allowlisted users. It does not accept payments, sell credits, offer subscriptions, or provide public registration. Access may be changed or withdrawn as the pilot evolves.
Purpose of AltoCV
AltoCV provides tools that assist users in adapting, formatting, restructuring, and generating curriculum vitae, resumes, cover-letter-related material, and similar career documents based on information provided by the user and, where applicable, job descriptions or other user-provided inputs.
AltoCV is a document-assistance and formatting tool only. AltoCV does not guarantee employment, interview invitations, application success, compatibility with any applicant tracking system, compliance with any employer requirement, or suitability for any specific job, industry, country, immigration process, academic process, regulated profession, or legal purpose.
Eligibility and User Responsibility
You may use AltoCV only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement and if your use of AltoCV is lawful in your jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for:
a. the accuracy, lawfulness, completeness, and appropriateness of any information, CV, resume, job description, file, document, text, image, or other material that you upload, submit, paste, transmit, or otherwise provide to AltoCV;
b. ensuring that you have all rights, permissions, consents, and legal bases required to upload, process, use, transmit, and share such material;
c. reviewing all outputs generated by AltoCV before using, downloading, sending, publishing, or relying on them;
d. deciding whether any output is suitable for your intended purpose;
e. complying with all applicable employment, data-protection, intellectual-property, confidentiality, professional, and other legal obligations.
You acknowledge that CVs and resumes may contain sensitive or confidential information. You should not upload information that you do not want processed through AltoCV or that you are not legally entitled to disclose.
User Content
"User Content" means any content, data, files, documents, CVs, resumes, job descriptions, personal information, text, images, metadata, or other material that you upload, submit, paste, transmit, or otherwise provide to AltoCV.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By using AltoCV, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, modify, format, parse, structure, generate outputs from, and otherwise use your User Content solely to provide, maintain, secure, improve, and operate AltoCV, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
You represent and warrant that:
a. you own or have the necessary rights to use and submit your User Content;
b. your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights, including intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, publicity, employment, contractual, or data-protection rights;
c. your User Content is not unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, discriminatory, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate;
d. your User Content does not contain malware, viruses, malicious code, or material intended to disrupt AltoCV or third-party systems.
We do not assume responsibility for verifying the legality, accuracy, ownership, or appropriateness of User Content.
Personal Data and Uploaded CVs
You understand that CVs, resumes, cover letters, and job-application documents usually contain personal data, and may contain sensitive information depending on what you include.
You are responsible for deciding what personal data you upload to AltoCV. You should avoid uploading unnecessary, excessive, confidential, sensitive, or third-party personal data unless you have a lawful basis and all required permissions to do so.
Where applicable, our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy forms part of the legal framework governing your use of AltoCV but is separate from these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV is not responsible for any consequences arising from your decision to upload, disclose, include, or process personal data through AltoCV, including where you upload inaccurate, excessive, sensitive, confidential, third-party, or unlawfully obtained data.
Data Security and No Absolute Guarantee
We may implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect User Content and personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no online platform, hosting environment, transmission method, storage system, software service, or internet-based tool can be guaranteed to be completely secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or immune from unauthorised access, cyberattack, accidental disclosure, data loss, service interruption, or technical failure.
By using AltoCV, you acknowledge and accept that you upload, transmit, and process User Content at your own risk.
AltoCV shall not be liable for loss, disclosure, corruption, unauthorised access, alteration, deletion, unavailability, or misuse of User Content where such event results from circumstances outside AltoCV's reasonable control, including third-party service failures, hosting-provider incidents, user error, compromised user credentials, insecure devices, malware, network attacks, force majeure events, or unauthorised actions by third parties.
Third-Party Services and Subprocessors
AltoCV may rely on third-party service providers, hosting providers, infrastructure providers, analytics providers, AI providers, document-rendering tools, email providers, security tools, and other vendors to provide and operate the service.
Your User Content may be processed by such third parties where necessary to provide AltoCV, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
AltoCV is not responsible for third-party platforms, websites, integrations, APIs, software libraries, hosting services, external links, or third-party services that are not controlled by AltoCV, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
If you access AltoCV through or in connection with third-party services, you are also responsible for complying with their terms, policies, and technical requirements.
AI-Generated or Automated Outputs
AltoCV may use automated systems, algorithms, templates, document-rendering tools, artificial intelligence, or similar technologies to generate, adapt, structure, or format outputs.
You acknowledge that automated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, generic, unsuitable, misleading, inconsistent, incorrectly formatted, or otherwise inappropriate for your intended use.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, correcting, and approving all outputs before relying on them, submitting them to employers, uploading them to third-party platforms, or using them for any professional, academic, immigration, regulatory, or legal purpose.
AltoCV does not guarantee that any output will:
a. be accurate, complete, truthful, or error-free;
b. pass or improve performance in applicant tracking systems;
c. comply with employer, recruiter, industry, academic, immigration, or legal requirements;
d. increase the likelihood of job interviews, offers, admission, sponsorship, visa approval, or professional advancement;
e. preserve the exact meaning, tone, structure, or formatting of your original document.
No Professional Advice
AltoCV does not provide legal, immigration, employment, career, tax, financial, regulatory, academic, or professional advice.
Any suggestions, formatting, wording, scoring, tailoring, ranking, or document outputs generated through AltoCV are provided for general informational and document-assistance purposes only.
You should obtain independent professional advice where appropriate before relying on any output in a legally, professionally, financially, or personally significant context.
Prohibited Use
You must not use AltoCV to:
a. upload or process content that you have no right to use;
b. impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, employment history, education, certifications, immigration status, skills, references, or achievements;
c. generate fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful documents;
d. upload malware, malicious files, scraping tools, automated attack scripts, or harmful code;
e. attempt to gain unauthorised access to AltoCV, its infrastructure, other users' accounts, or third-party systems;
f. reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit AltoCV except as expressly authorised;
g. overload, disrupt, probe, scan, attack, or interfere with AltoCV's systems;
h. use AltoCV in violation of applicable law, regulation, third-party rights, or these Terms.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to AltoCV if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or that your use creates legal, security, operational, reputational, or technical risk.
Account Security
If AltoCV provides user accounts, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials. AltoCV does not store passwords.
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, credential compromise, or misuse of your account.
AltoCV is not liable for losses arising from your failure to secure your account, device, email account, password manager, browser session, or authentication credentials, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Pilot Access and Usage Limits
No payment is required or accepted during the current closed pilot. Access is controlled by the allowlist, per-user usage limits, service-wide safety limits, and operator discretion. Recorded credit-ledger information is an inactive technical scaffold and does not govern pilot access while billing is disabled.
Availability and Changes to the Service
AltoCV may be modified, updated, suspended, interrupted, restricted, discontinued, or replaced at any time.
We do not guarantee continuous availability, uninterrupted access, specific uptime, compatibility with any device or browser, preservation of uploaded files, or continued availability of any specific feature, template, output format, pricing model, or integration.
We may perform maintenance, updates, security changes, infrastructure changes, or service modifications without prior notice.
AltoCV shall not be liable for losses arising from downtime, interruption, data unavailability, feature changes, service suspension, or discontinuation.
Intellectual Property
AltoCV and its website, application, interface, user experience, workflows, product structure, database structure, prompts, templates, proprietary document-tailoring logic, design elements, text, graphics, layouts, documentation, trade names, logos, visual identity, branding, know-how, and other service elements are owned by AltoCV or its licensors and are protected, as applicable, by copyright, unfair-competition law, database rights, trade-secret rules, contractual rights, and other intellectual-property or similar laws.
Except as expressly permitted by AltoCV, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, host, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on AltoCV (including disassemble, imitate, commercially exploit, or create derivative works based on AltoCV, its website, its software, its proprietary service elements, or its branding).
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, AltoCV grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use AltoCV for its intended purpose.
Outputs generated from your User Content are made available to you for your personal or internal professional use, subject to these Terms and any third-party rights or open-source licence terms that may apply to underlying tools or templates.
Open-Source Components
AltoCV may use open-source software, libraries, rendering tools, frameworks, or other third-party components, including RenderCV.
RenderCV is licensed under the MIT License. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences, notices, disclaimers, attribution requirements, and warranty limitations. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted to you under applicable open-source licences.
AltoCV's use of RenderCV or other open-source components does not mean that AltoCV's own website, branding, product design, proprietary service logic, user interface, prompts, workflows, documentation, templates, generated commercial presentation, or non-open-source code are open source or free to copy.
Where required, AltoCV will provide appropriate notices, attribution, or references to applicable open-source licences.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We disclaim all warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, compatibility, and error-free operation.
We do not warrant that AltoCV will meet your requirements, produce desired results, generate accurate or successful CVs, remain available without interruption, be free from defects or vulnerabilities, or preserve User Content without loss.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV, its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, suppliers, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, including loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, loss of employment opportunity, loss of goodwill, reputational harm, loss of data, loss of documents, business interruption, cost of replacement services, or claims arising from your use of or inability to use AltoCV.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV shall not be liable for damages arising from:
a. User Content uploaded, submitted, transmitted, or processed by you;
b. inaccurate, incomplete, unlawful, confidential, excessive, or sensitive information uploaded by you;
c. your reliance on AltoCV outputs;
d. employer, recruiter, platform, or applicant-tracking-system decisions;
e. rejection of applications, missed opportunities, or unsuccessful job searches;
f. unauthorised access caused by your device, account, credentials, network, email account, browser, or third-party services;
g. third-party service failures, hosting incidents, cyberattacks, API outages, software dependencies, or force majeure events;
h. deletion, loss, corruption, or unavailability of User Content where not caused by AltoCV's breach of non-excludable legal duties;
i. your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, the service, User Content, or any output shall be limited to CHF 50.
Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AltoCV, its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, suppliers, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, penalties, and fees, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
a. your User Content;
b. your use or misuse of AltoCV;
c. your breach of these Terms;
d. your violation of applicable law or third-party rights;
e. your unauthorised upload, processing, disclosure, or use of personal data, confidential information, intellectual property, or third-party content;
f. your use, submission, publication, or reliance on any output generated by AltoCV.
g. any unauthorised access, disclosure, loss, alteration, corruption, deletion, misuse, or unavailability of User Content or personal data arising from circumstances outside AltoCV's reasonable control, including third-party service failures, hosting-provider incidents, user error, compromised user credentials, insecure devices, malware, phishing, social-engineering attacks, network attacks, denial-of-service attacks, zero-day vulnerabilities, force majeure events, or unauthorised actions by third parties.
User Responsibility for Backups
AltoCV is not intended to function as a storage, archive, backup, or document-management service.
You are responsible for maintaining independent copies and backups of all CVs, resumes, job descriptions, documents, outputs, and other User Content.
We may delete, restrict, or make unavailable User Content in accordance with our retention practices, Privacy Policy, technical limits, legal obligations, or operational needs.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to AltoCV, with or without notice, if:
a. you violate these Terms;
b. your use creates legal, security, technical, operational, financial, or reputational risk;
c. we are required to do so by law, court order, authority request, or third-party service provider;
d. we discontinue or materially modify AltoCV.
Upon termination, your right to use AltoCV ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are material, we may provide notice through the website, user dashboard, email, or other reasonable means. The updated Terms will apply from the stated effective date.
Your continued use of AltoCV after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using AltoCV.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection laws provide otherwise.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable provision shall be replaced or interpreted to achieve, as closely as possible, the original commercial and legal purpose of that provision.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any applicable Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and other legal notices expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and AltoCV regarding your use of AltoCV.

This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection ("FADP") and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, employers, recruiters, hosting providers, or external services that are not controlled by AltoCV. Such third parties may process your personal data under their own privacy policies.
Personal Data We Process
Depending on how you use AltoCV, we may process the following categories of personal data.
3.1 Account and Identification Data
This may include:
a. name;

d. password or authentication information;

g. pilot access and usage-limit information;

3.2 CV, Resume, and Document Data
When you upload, paste, or generate documents, we may process the content of those documents. This may include:
a. CVs and resumes;
b. job descriptions;
c. professional summaries;
d. employment history;
e. education history;
f. skills;
g. languages;
h. contact details;
i. portfolio links;
j. references;
k. photos, if uploaded by you;
l. any other information you choose to include in your uploaded or generated documents.
You decide what information you include in your CV, resume, job description, or other uploaded material. You should not upload information that is unnecessary, confidential, sensitive, unlawful, or owned by third parties unless you have the legal right to do so.
3.3 Potentially Sensitive Data
CVs and resumes may sometimes contain sensitive personal data, and depending on what you include these documents may sometimes contain sensitive personal data or personal data that is not necessary for the use of AltoCV. This may include, for example:
a. nationality or citizenship;
b. visa or immigration information;
c. date of birth;
d. gender;
e. photo or image data;
f. disability-related information;
g. health-related information;
h. union membership;
i. religious or political references;
j. racial or ethnic origin;
k. criminal-record information;
l. biometric data;
m. sexual orientation;
n. financial information;
o. references to family members or third parties;
p. other sensitive, confidential, excessive, unnecessary, or high-risk information.
AltoCV does not require you to upload sensitive personal data. You should avoid uploading sensitive data unless it is strictly necessary for your intended use and you have a lawful basis to provide it.
Where applicable law requires explicit consent or another specific legal basis for processing sensitive data, you are responsible for ensuring that you do not submit such data. You should not upload, submit, paste, disclose, or include sensitive, confidential, excessive, third-party, or unnecessary personal data unless it is strictly necessary for your intended use of AltoCV.
If you include such data in User Content, AltoCV may technically process that data only because it forms part of the content you submitted and only for the purpose of providing the service requested by you, such as parsing, tailoring, formatting, generating, or delivering CV-related outputs.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltoCV shall not be liable for claims, liabilities, damages, losses, penalties, costs, or consequences arising from your voluntary upload, submission, disclosure, or inclusion of sensitive, confidential, excessive, unnecessary, third-party, or unlawfully provided personal data.
3.4 Technical and Usage Data
When you use AltoCV, we may process technical and usage data, including:
a. IP address;
b. device type;
c. browser type and version;
d. operating system;
e. referring pages;
f. pages visited;
g. time and date of access;
h. session duration;
i. feature usage;
j. error logs;
k. security logs;
l. approximate location derived from IP address;
m. cookies and similar identifiers;
n. interactions with the website, application, dashboard, or email communications.
3.5 Pilot Usage Data
The closed pilot may process account quotas, generation counts, AI usage estimates, feature usage, administrative changes, and audit events needed to operate the service safely. AltoCV does not collect or process payment-card or transaction data while billing is disabled.

If you contact us, we may process:
a. your name;
b. email address;
c. message content;
d. attachments;
e. support requests;
f. feedback;
g. complaint details;
h. records of correspondence.
How We Collect Personal Data
We collect personal data:
a. directly from you when you create an account, upload a CV, paste a job description, generate documents, or contact us;
b. automatically when you use AltoCV, through logs, cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies;
c. from authentication providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, or other service providers;
d. from third-party integrations, if you choose to connect or use them.
Purposes of Processing
We process personal data for the following purposes:
a. to provide AltoCV and its core features;
b. to create, tailor, parse, structure, format, render, store, and deliver CVs, resumes, and related documents;
c. to generate downloadable outputs;
d. to operate user accounts;
e. to authenticate users and secure accounts;
f. to enforce pilot quotas and service-wide safety limits;
g. to provide customer support;
h. to respond to user requests, complaints, and privacy requests;
i. to maintain, debug, test, and improve AltoCV;
j. to prevent fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorised access, and security incidents;
k. to monitor service performance and reliability;
l. to comply with legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations;
m. to enforce our Terms of Use and other legal rights;
n. to analyse usage and improve user experience;
o. to send service-related communications;
p. to send marketing communications, where permitted by law or with your consent where required;
q. to comply with court orders, authority requests, or legal processes.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
6.1 Performance of a Contract
We process personal data where necessary to provide AltoCV, operate your account, process your uploaded documents, generate outputs, enforce pilot limits, and deliver the services you request.
6.2 Consent
We may rely on your consent where required, for example for certain cookies, marketing communications, optional processing, or processing of certain sensitive data where applicable.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
6.3 Legitimate Interests
We may process personal data based on our legitimate interests, including:
a. securing AltoCV;
b. preventing fraud and abuse;
c. improving and debugging the service;
d. analysing usage;
e. protecting our legal rights;
f. communicating with users;
g. maintaining business records;
h. developing and improving product features.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance our interests against your rights and freedoms.
6.4 Legal Obligations
We may process personal data where necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, consumer-protection, data-protection, or other mandatory obligations.
6.5 Legal Claims
We may process personal data where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
AI, Automation, and Document Generation
AltoCV may use automated systems, algorithms, document-rendering tools, artificial intelligence models, parsing systems, scoring systems, or similar technologies to process uploaded documents and generate outputs.
This processing may include:
a. extracting information from CVs or resumes;
b. comparing a CV with a job description;
c. suggesting wording changes;
d. restructuring sections;
e. formatting documents;
f. generating tailored CV versions;
g. producing downloadable files;
h. analysing document completeness or relevance.
You are responsible for reviewing all generated outputs before using them.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, AltoCV does not use your uploaded CVs or personal documents to train public AI models. If we later introduce optional model-training, analytics, or product-improvement use of uploaded documents beyond what is necessary to provide the service, we will disclose this and, where required, request your consent.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate AltoCV, remember user preferences, secure accounts, analyse usage, and improve the service.
Cookies may be:
a. strictly necessary cookies, required for the website or service to function;
b. preference cookies, used to remember settings;
c. analytics cookies, used to understand usage and performance;
d. marketing cookies, used for advertising or campaign measurement, if enabled.
Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings or, where available, through our cookie banner or consent-management tool.
Data Sharing and Recipients
We may share personal data with the following categories of recipients where necessary and lawful:
a. hosting and infrastructure providers;
b. cloud storage providers;
c. database providers;
d. AI and document-processing providers;
e. authentication and identity providers;
f. analytics providers;
g. email and communication providers;
h. security and fraud-prevention providers;
i. customer-support tools;
j. professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors, and consultants;
k. public authorities, courts, regulators, or law-enforcement bodies where legally required;

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to process such data only under appropriate instructions, contractual safeguards, confidentiality obligations, and security measures.
We do not sell your uploaded CVs or resume content.
Processors and Subprocessors
We may use processors and subprocessors to provide AltoCV.
Such processors may process personal data only as necessary to provide services to us, such as hosting, storage, document generation, AI processing, analytics, support, email delivery, and security monitoring.

International Data Transfers
AltoCV may process or transfer personal data in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
Where personal data is transferred to a country that does not provide an adequate level of data protection under applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards where required, such as:
a. standard contractual clauses;
b. data-processing agreements;
c. transfer impact assessments, where applicable;
d. technical and organisational safeguards;
e. encryption, access controls, and data minimisation where appropriate;
f. other lawful transfer mechanisms recognised by applicable law.
You acknowledge that international transfers may involve countries whose data-protection laws differ from those in Switzerland or the European Economic Area.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and purpose of processing.
Indicative retention periods are:
a. account data: for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter;
b. uploaded CVs, resumes, job descriptions, generated outputs, and related document data: retained on restricted application and archive systems for the duration of the pilot unless deletion is requested or an operator-approved retention change is documented;
c. support communications: retained for as long as necessary to handle the request and maintain business records;
d. pilot access, quota, and audit data: retained while needed to operate, secure, and evaluate the pilot;
e. security logs: retained for a limited period necessary for security, fraud prevention, and incident investigation;
f. analytics data: retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form where possible.
When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymise, or restrict it, unless retention is required by law or necessary for legal claims, security, or legitimate business purposes.
Data Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.
Uploaded CVs, resumes, job descriptions, generated outputs, and related document data are encrypted in transit between AltoCV systems. Current pilot storage is protected by access controls but is not represented as encrypted at rest. Human-readable copies are retained on the restricted archive system until deletion is requested or an operator-approved retention policy changes.
Such measures may include:
a. encryption in transit;
b. encryption at rest for uploaded CVs, resumes, job descriptions, generated outputs, and related document data;
c. access controls;
d. authentication controls;
e. logging and monitoring;
f. role-based access limitations;
g. secure hosting practices;
h. backups;
i. vulnerability management;
j. incident-response procedures;
k. confidentiality obligations for personnel and service providers.
However, no technical or organisational measure can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, devices, email account, browser sessions, and uploaded documents.

Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable conditions and legal limitations, you may have rights under Swiss FADP and, where applicable, GDPR. These may include the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of data, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, data portability where applicable, withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent, and information about automated individual decision-making where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We may refuse, restrict, or delay a request where permitted by law, including where retention is required for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-handling, or legal-claim purposes.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority. In Switzerland, the competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC. If the GDPR applies to you, you may also contact the supervisory authority in your EU/EEA country of residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.
Deleting Uploaded CVs and Account Data
You may request deletion of uploaded documents, generated outputs, or your account by contacting us at:

Deletion may not be immediate in archive systems, backup systems, logs, audit records, or legally required records. AltoCV will confirm the scope and completion status of a deletion request after the operator has processed it across the applicable systems.
Marketing Communications
We may send you service-related communications necessary for the operation of AltoCV, such as account emails, security notices, legal updates, and support messages.
Children
AltoCV is not intended for children below the age of 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable minimum age. If we become aware that we have collected such data without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Business Transfers
If AltoCV is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, insolvency, or similar transaction, personal data may be transferred to relevant parties as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you through the website, user dashboard, email, or other reasonable means.
